Better Everyday

Better Everyday

Channel Islands
Avaliação dos Donos:
The Better Everyday is Channel Islands' 2025 evolution of the Happy Everyday, keeping the step-down volume and outline but relaxing the trademark hip and swapping the blocky tail for a pulled in swallow. Taking foam out from under the back foot gets the board to rail faster and gives it more bite through a turn, while increased flip out the tail loosens it off the lip and the softer hip smooths out the bottom turn. A single concave running into a double through the fins builds speed off the takeoff and holds it through flat or sloping sections. It comes stock with five fin boxes, was designed around a quad, and runs from 5'4 to 6'4 for surfers who want everyday usability with more performance than a standard step-down.

Embaixo dos Pés

Familiar and easy to get moving, then noticeably sharper than you expect the moment you commit to a rail. Pulling the foam out from under the back foot makes turns come around quicker and tighter without the board feeling twitchy, and there is enough flip in the tail that it releases cleanly off the top instead of pushing through. It still paddles and glides like a step-down, it just stops feeling sluggish the harder you lean on it.

Quando está bombando

  • The pulled in swallow gives real bite and hold once there is a proper face to work with.
  • The relaxed hip makes the bottom turn smoother and more predictable, which is what opens it up on bigger, better days.
  • It still will not draw as tight a line as a dedicated high performance shortboard, this is a step-down reaching up, not the other way around.

Quando está fraco

  • The volume and the single to double concave do the small-wave work, holding speed off the takeoff and through soft sections.
  • Happy in ordinary day-to-day surf, and it does not mind a bit of chop or bump in the face.
  • There is less foam back there than a Happy Everyday, so a truly gutless day asks slightly more of you than the board it came from.
